I'm seriously depressed...

... after checking my car at the dealer's today. :(

As you remember, some idiot crashed into my car earlier this month.

The damage's been repaired (replaced driver's door and LHS front wing, plus some other minor work) but they did a sh*t job at finishing the service.

I know I'm a car freak - I could tell a car that's had bodywork repair from one that didn't, among other things - but I still think they did a really poor job with my Polo: the door is not aligned properly, there's a H U G E gap between the front wing and A-pillar, and the door handle - that I'd expensively replaced a month ago - looks as though it's been burglarised more than a few times. I could almost see through the door seals' gaps, so there's a real risk of infiltration. Oh, and water could also come in though the door handle, which isn't sitting properly with the bodywork.

I was proper furious when I saw the car, but right now I'm just sad.

Anyone can see clearly that the car has been damaged at some point, and it just looks as though the accident was worse than it really was.

I know I've a lost some serious money in re-sale value, and replacing the car is out of the question for me right now - VW has increased the price of a new (basic) Polo from R.32,000 to R.37,000 in the past year, while reducing equipment levels to the bare minimum (the engine temperature gauge is now available only on Sportline and Highline models!).

:? :? :? :( :( :(

I had the same prob after an accident which wasnt my fault, the garage ended up doing a top job tho. If they do work on ur car then it should be top class and the best, especially if they getting paid for it ( mine came to £1800). If u aint happy take it back and tell em its a s**t job, they gotta redo it until u happy and the work is off a good level. They cant just bodge job it. If they refuse get onto insurance company.

Cheers PoloAV, the car's still there to be finished, plus there's some warranty work to be done that's not related to the crash.

I've already told them that the repair was below my expectations and that I won't get my car until it's good enough FOR ME.

Still, let's see what happens.
