Hey all, I've been a member on here for some time as I owned a 9n as my first car but didn't do anything to it. However, I've recently purchased a 9n3 and it's awesome! I love it - let the modding begin...
I'm not planning to do too much but just view subtle 'updates'. Here's how it stands at the moment.
I'm no photographer, but see what you think!

Nice! Looks like some great spec too, I spy headlight washers

I also think those alloys are pretty rare, Varano's aren't they?
The fact that you got a pd130 is awesome, I wanted one but settled for the similar but lesser pd100 as I couldnt find any 130s with 3 doors at the time
Get a good stage one remap on it and you'll be pushing 170bhp

and you'll keep the epic mpg.

Hey thanks for the nice comments! Yeah it has winter pack, so has head light washers and heated seats. Also the seats are pretty rare (I think) I've not seen any with the same ones -
The wheels are quite rare, I've seen a few with with them on but mine are very badly curbed (not by me!)
Yeah the PD100 is what i'd of chosen if i hadn't of found mine. - I prefer polos to the fabia vrs!
Ha yeah a remap is in consideration, however, I've got a few bits to sort out first. It's due a cam belt change as its done 56000 miles - getting that done on Wednesday which should be a relief, I'm worried about it going!!
But yeah, overall I'm very happy with it. I just need to sort something with the exterior - I like how it's understated but I think that it needs something... I've got a votex rear apron which I've had for ages which I might get around to spraying and fitting. Then I have a stubby ariel on its way, but other than that I'm not sure. Any advice on what to do would be great..

I have a 6r aerial on mine which looks good and oem without much loss of reception.
I do like the looks of those seats, mine are exactly the same but grey rather than blue, check out my build thread:
http://www.uk-polos.net/view ... 24&t=54769
We should swap interiors, those seats would match my paintwork nicely!
Good idea on the cambelt change, it's good to make sure the car is running as well as it can before you consider a remap, maybe even an oil change just before you get it done to protect the turbo because you'll be straining it a bit in the first week
As for exterior, you could get the sideskirts from a GTI, maybe colour code them too. The 9n3 also has a pretty mean looking votex front splitter which makes it look like an audi, but they're as rare as rocking horse poop

Your car looks nice mate, love the colour & like what you've done to the front bumper.
Ha yeah, swapping seats would be a good idea, my blue ones would go well in yours and your grey ones would work well in my silver car! However, i'd loose my heated seats...!
I suppose that I've been gearing up for a remap really anyway - new front tyres and a glow plug change. Plus once I've got the new cam belt and oil change it'll be ready to go. Just need to find a decent and reliable place to get it done that is local-ish to me... & thats reasonable-ish too!
As for your suggestions on the exterior, I like the front splitter but as you say, they're very rare and I was just going to get a cupra front splitter and see how that looks with my votex rear skirt. Then, I think I heard that gti side skirts are very cheap from volkswagen? £35 a side?
I bought some new alloys - i'll get a picture up of them. I'm not really that keen on them to be honest, but got them for a good price off a mate so couldn't say no. He had them on his fabia vrs.

If I do put them on then i'd need some coil overs as they're 18". I would of preferred some tt competitions or something similar but we'll see...

Yeah the ones you have look good, the long spokes make the wheels look huge. You wouldn't believe mine were 16"s, I fancy some Monty 2's..
If you want a new look and to remove the curbing you could have them refurbed or repainted in another colour, like gunmetal grey. Or have them polished!

nice car mate wish i had the pd130 instead of my pd100 lol!
anyway imo i would put the honeycomb grills on the bottom bumpers and then make it look like a gti exterior wise i think that car looks mint oem rather than dubbed out or whatever...

Very tidy mate! Same colour, year and trim as mine was when it was standard, except for my being a Petrol 1.6 sport and not having the winter pack! My car now has a votex kit on the sides and rear and a bluemotion front splitter which I think just improves on the standard look really. My alloys have been changed for 17" VW Siatas as well and got GTI headlights. Keeping mine OEM+ really

Here's a picture anyway..

Hey, thought that i'd do a little update on here as its been a few weeks since the last time.
I bought some gti headlights from a guy off CP and fitted them on Saturday. Really happy with how they look.

Then I got lucky on ebay and bought some genuine volkswagen Votex side skirts for £40.00!
These will go with my rear splitter. Still need to decide what to do with the front, i'm thinking blue motion splitter, but can't find one anywhere and I'm not paying the £268.00 that volkswagen wants!
Anyway, see what you think to the headlights. Next update - I should have the kit on. Cant wait.
P.S - anyone know why my pictures are always missing the right side? They appear off centre on here but on photo bucket they're fine.

Love the GTi lights, looks mean! Nice find on the £40 side skirts too, they'll look their best on your car because it's a light colour and that black underbody paint shows up at the moment! Problem is it means you'll want a colour coded splitter on the front all the more because you'll have a 'step' between the wheels where the front end becomes the side skirts. It doesn't bother many people, you'll have to see. You may find that colour coding the stock front splitter would be adequate, or as you say a LCR one!

Looking good with those GTI lights! If you get a bluemotion front splitter your car will look almost identical to mine, the only difference being alloys..

Yours looks too nice to say that I'm copying - everyone would like a car like yours! Think I will be rocking the standard wheels for a while, then I will be doing the usual, and getting some tt comps. Maybe coil overs before the comps though.. we'll see.

Facelift it? Probably more hassle than its worth though! Mines a 130 like your GT & isn't going anywhere for a long while yet
