got a rcd310 unit in our polo gti.....my questions are ,there are loads of rcd 510 units for sale and im wondering is it an easy exchange just plug and play. Also will the parking sensor feature still display also will the glove box i pod in still work? does it just fit, enter code and it works? or is it dealer only activate and advice etc will be welocome

I got VW to fit mine, didnt want to cause problems with any warranty issues but I can confirm that the parking sensors work with the 510 in colour as well.

look on youtube,there are loads of how to's on there.
i swapped my rcd310 to a rcd510 in 20 mins.
i haven't got parking sensors but ipod and aux both work fine on mine.
i made sure that i got the correct rcd510 version that was polo compatible.

when you say correct version,is that the battery drain issue your refering to on the older unit, i need to make sure its a 2010 or newer unit yea?
