Alarm blinkers

My indicators work normally. But I have a problem when arming and disarming the alarm. They don't flash (once when arming and 3 times when disarming). At first it was only on one side of the car (my right front/rear indicators wouldn't work) but now it's both. Any ideas as to what this is and what i can do about it? My alarm is the factory installed one.
