Clutch Question

Hello everyone, i bought a polo gti yesterday that needs a little TLC.. im currently going through all the common faults and fixing them.
My question is about the clutch, ive searched but i cant get a straight answer.
How should a clutch in a MK5 6N2 Gti feel?
The clutch feels extremely heavy... almost to the point of making me think surely this cant actually be normal?
So really, Do the GTI 6n2's have heavy clutches as normal or is there somthing wrong?
No slipping or missing gears, seems to work fine.
