You want HOW MUCH?!

So I gets this door off a scrappy, and I goes to this local body shop to ask him how much he might want for fittage, just as a quote like so i can pass it on back to the person wot will be paying - see if they want to pay out of pocket, on insurance, or sort it out themselves.
£300 he quotes me, almost straight up, or £370 on insurance. I kinda get the feeling its a scripted answer. So glad my poker face has had some training of late. Play along with the whole thing through him telling me it would be a close run thing from the insurance company maybe writing it off etc.... Got a leaflet about some HelpHire company (they sort out lots of stuff with the careless sod's insurance, get you a courtesy car etc, for just a £10 fee - eh, hang on, that's dodgy, why would *I* have to pay anything at all? Why not add it to the insurers bill?).... phone number, etc. Walk away and let the face drop.
He wanted HOW MUCH for putting a f*****ng door on a dub that might be worth all of £500-600 afterwards?
Like, it's a job that I reckon I could tackle in an hour, 2 hours tops, with a little 5 minutes assistant help just sticking the first two bolts in. The locks, glass, trim etc.. piece of cake. There'll be a little paint tidying involved before the thing is fitted, but that seriously doesn't justify the cost. Wish I'd waited and scouted out a nicer door first but... apart from the paint... this one was minty fresh at a decent price. Didn't really want to pass that up.
Three hundred quid! I'll leave it to Ms Escorts father's tender mercies!
Joker... think he saw me coming?
