02J 5 speed gear box

Hi all, does anyone know if the 02J box is a direct fit for the GTI? They sell complete strengthened versions of these with longer gear ratios in the States that I would be interested in.

you'll have to modify the area pictured below as i have done as its thicker than the 02R box that comes in the GTI.
And depending on where the box comes from you may have to change the drive shaft cups to 100mm ones as the MK4 golf has 110mm.
Other than that I don't see any reason for it not to fit and both very easy modifications.
