Fitting newer 6n dash (and tacho) into a 6n (no 6n2 upgrade)

Hi!

I'm thinking of upgrading the dashboard of my polo 6n to the later version, not 6n2 or anything but the one with Golf IV kind of dash.

I'd actually be changing the whole older dash for a newer one (so I don't know if stuff like the vents and all that is physically 100% compatible), but my biggest concern is the tachometer, really. Has anyone done this? I've heard of some adapters?

The old clocks and new clocks arent interchangeable - different plugs and communication protocol I beleive.

Can I keep them whilst still changing most of the dash for the newer one?

Nope - different shape sadly

Its all or nothing with these. Youd have to modify the loom to get it all working.

I see I'll have to scrap this idea.

Thanks though, knowing it doesn't work from the get go makes it so that I'm not left wondering about how it might just work. :)
