Starting/Ignition intermittent problem? help? :)

Hello! I picked up a little 1.0 6n Polo a few days ago and have noticed a strange problem that happens intermittently.

When I turn the key to start the car, sometimes it fires up as normal, ignition comes on, one more turn and it fires up, all is well.

However, sometimes when I try to start the car, the ignition comes on fine, all the lights on the dash etc, but when I turn it again to start the car nothing happens. not one thing. You can hear the fuel pump relay click (I think that's what that is anyway) but the engine does not fire, not even turn. I then have to try this a couple more times before the car starts, sometimes between 2 - 6 goes before it starts. and then it starts as normal and runs as it should.

Any ideas what this could be? Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers guys

Steve.

Sounds like you need a new ignition switch on the barrel

Cheap and easy to replace :)
