Hi,
Does anybody know where the sunroof front drain holes exit as think the passenger side one on my GTi is blocked causing a wet passenger carpet.

You sure its not the pipe for the rear screen washer split?
Should be visible if you look up at the fire wall from the passenger side.

Pretty sure as it only happens when we have heavy downpours, any idea where the sun roof drains out?

Itll go into the A pillar at the front and go through the door shut into the front wheel arch
Rear wise it goes down the C pillar and behind the bumper.

Perfect, thanks very much - i'm going to try and use a cable cable from a bike to try and flush the drain out.

Welding wire is your best bet otherwise
To be honest though, the pipes are external to the interior of the car so thats very unlikely to cause a leak
If the car is still within warranty, I would take it back to the dealer for investigation as this could be a problem with the cabin air filter seal or similar.

Car is out of warranty and we had the door sealed a year ago - I took the door card off last night and my wife hosed the side of the car down for 5 minutes and not a drop of water got in.
I'll have a look at the cabin filter tonight and see if there's a leak around there - any other ideas?
9n3turbo - is the rear wash hose located inside or externally against the firewall?

Can you see drip marks where the wet patch is?
It could be various things like door seal, windscreen, cabin filter, rear wash pipe (though the water would smell like washer fluid if that was the case), heater matrix (again water would taste sweet if this was the case)

No drip marks and only the passenger floor carpet is wet, the upholstery, dash and trim is all dry.
The water has no smell, it does seem to leak worse when the car is facing down a slope and slightly leaning to the passenger side.
The carpet appears to be dry towards the firewall and on the sides - also the rear carpet is dry.
Really confused??

That is rather odd indeed
It sounds like it could be the cabin air filter letting water in. Check under the windscreen scuttle to see that the drain holes are blocked up with leaves etc.
I assume its wet after being parked up for a while in the rain rather than whilst driving it appears?

Yes seems to happen when parked up - going to reseal the whole inner door again - see if that helps.

Ah ok, can you post a link to the sort of mastic you would use please.
