Thought I would make a quick how to on this.. It only turns off dipped beams, just leaving the sidelights on.

First thing first you need to remove the headlight switch, this is done by having the switch in the '0' position, pushing it in and turning it clockwise to the sidelights position, the switch should then hold pushed in this position. As seen in these following 2 pics

Now you can attempt to pull the switch out from the dash, I found this hard so removed the side panel on the dash and gave it a little push from the back, came out easy then.. The panel is easily removed by prising it off.

When you get the switch out you need to unplug it which is done by simply pushing the tabs in either side and pulling it apart. Then when looking at the plug you need to bend the pin 3rd from te bottom left as seen below

Then put it all back together and now in the '0' position only the sidelights will be on and not the dipped beam.

I would say you can remove the terminal from the plug, which would save bending the pin

just noticed that the labeling inside the switch is helpful.

Get idea. I am finding annoying that the headlights are on everything I switch on the ignition. I can live with the side lights on,y. Thanks mate.

For those of you not wanting to bend the pin, black electrical tape does exactly the same job :) I've done it on mine and it works perfect!

Nice idea, my only worry with that is if the tape comes off in the socket, will be a pain to fish out. Bending the pin if done carefully should be able to be reversed fairly simply, but will obviously weaken the metal contact if repeatedly performed.

An excellent guide thank you, the mod works perfectly.
