Just turn the car off and leave the indicator on, should leave the left or right sidelight on.
Never used it.

Ultimately yes. Should last hours though.

It's a safety feature so that at night when you parking in a dark lit road you leave on the side light that is opposite to the kerb, warns drivers that there is a car in the road or at least make it easier to spot from distance - i do it most times and the battery doesn't seem to be drained if at all
Prior to me having a car with this feature i always noticed the "german" cars that is parked on the streets with one light on and always told myself - " if you can afford to drive such a car why not change your parks out when they fuse" not knowing it was a safety feature
