Gas struts to lift the bonnet...

One thing that I've always missed from my 9N was the gas struts in the bonnet, gave it a sense of class! Is there any way of adding this feature to the 6R? :D

they maybe useful for gti owners :lol:

I wouldn't mind that feature. But would be worried about the weight increase. lol :wink:

lol I think I agree with you about the spare tyre! ;) I've looked around and you can't just put one strut on like the 9N had or one side of the bonnet will start to lift over time, so two need to be fitted at each side... Found a thread on here about it too!

I wonder what struts he used? I will have a look at a golf as they have gas struts for the bonnet. :wink:

Yeah that's a good point and I'm sure that there is just the one strut on the Golf and it's positioned vertically rather than horizontally if that makes any sense, the only real problem that I have read is that the bonnet can star to lift over time which is a little worrying! :(

Was thinking to my self some nice gas struts would be great then I saw this mmmm . . Need to be done.

The Audi A1 has them, maybe the same part would fit given they use the same chassis

Should in theory, might have to pop to the Audi dealers soon
