Just G60 carriers and disks

If you want the full package you can swap the calipers too, but there is no performance gain.

You use the existing GTI brake pads though when it comes to replace them you may need to shave the backing plate of the pad down a little to get it into the carrier snug.

The GTI pads are thinner than the g60 pads

It's not an issue but it means you shouldn't run the GTI pads right to the backing before replacing.

I found the G60 brakes to be worse than standard in my testing.

They didn't really offer much besides looks IMO, which is why they're sitting in my garage, waiting to be sold on again.

What did you you go for instead? Jst want some better braking power though getting a big disc would help a lot

I find they do make some difference on hard breaking

A decent set of discs, pads and a properly bled system will improve the breaking performance.

I went for a 4 piston setup using the 280mm disks.

It offered more stopping power but also a lot more feel/modulation which I find the Polo to be lacking in. Not that cheap though!

Original thread here: http://www.uk-polos.net/view ... hp?t=55945

Notice how (in my experience/tests) the G60 setup with the same make/compound of disks/pads did the worst. . .

Thats an interesting read

The main benefit of G60s is larger disk, thus larger stopping area overall compared to friction area

With the right disk/pad combination they are very good brakes, but I agree mostly show and not much more go that stock.

Though saying that, they were noticeably better on my old polo GTI, my golf GTI and my new polo GTI than the stock offering.

Thanks for the help I've fitted the g60 disc with some good pads and the difference at high speed is really good thanks again
