HELP!! 9N sdi fuel issue!

Hello all i have recently just bought a 9n 2002 polo 1.9 sdi i was told when i bought it had a fuel issue but it never botherd previous owner. The previous owner owned the vehicle from new and all of a sudden 1 day it just died on him he couldnt figure it out it stil had 2/3 of a tank of fuel but he put more in and it fired up off the key straight away and ever since then it always does it once u do around a 150miles it just dies it has had the tank removed and replaced also new sender has been fitted and still the problem persists two local garages and a vag specialist has looked at it and cant find any faults please help!!!
