Lowering on standard shocks

I've been reading around on this topic but I can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Looking to lower my polo, but using springs not coilovers. I had coilovers on my Clio and the ride comfort was terrible, so I want to retain some comfort I've read that springs would be my best choice. I'm not looking to lower my car by much as I will be chucking some 17's on it, I was looking at the H&R springs which should drop it by about 35mm.

My question is will these H&R springs be alright on standard shocks? I don't really want to shell out £500+ on the whole kit.

Also, anyone have any pictures of polos on H&R's with 17's on?

Standard shocks will be fine on the H&R springs, I have a set for sale if you are interested

They have covered about 4000 miles

I have 50mm lowering springs on my polo and i have 17's on it and im personally thinking its not low enough on the back...the front is just level with the arch which is good...i dont know how you like your cars lowered but in my opinion 35mm isnt enough...

however....the ride on 35mm would be okay i suppose....but the ride on my 50mm springs, people refrain to sit in my car lol ....its very bouncy and picks every little bump in the smoothest of roads..i personally dont mind it but coilovers are more comfortable than my 50mm springs...i suppose 35mm wouldnt be as bad.

p.s. ive had coilovers (weitec hicon gt) before and theyre not bad actually not very far off the standard polo setup
