Polo 1.4S not deadlocking

I have a 07 plate 1.4S. THe red LED o n he drivers door used to flash when locked. After a period of non use this stopped flashing, which is detailed in the handbook.
However since that time when re-locking the car the LED is not flashing. I think this is linked to deadlocking, which also may not be happening.
Is there a way to reset this so it works as expected again.
I disconnected the battery to see if that woudl reset things, but it didn't affect this.

You may have a fault - get the car scanned with VCDS or VAGCOM to check. When its not flashing it can point to a problem.

Ok thanks can get the VW dealer here to do that.
Is there a way to reset it to try that?

Not without the VCDS machine normally
I would be inclined to check the owners manual though.

All the manual says is that the red light indictaes the doors are deadlocked. and that it will stop flashign if the car is not used for 14 days.
This happened, but the implication is the next time it's used it will start to flash again, but that has not happened.

a bit more on this - havign tested this the car does deadlock - have tried getting someone to lock it once with the key when I was inside and the doors won't unlock from the inside. However using the key twice allows the doors to be unlocked from the inside. So the deadlock mechanism is workign fine, just the LED doesn't flash.
Any ideas?

I got a copy of VCDS and scanned and No error codes are showing up.....
Is there any option to reset the LED from VCDS?

If it's working properly, I'd be inclined to assume that the LED has failed and then replace it..
