Hey Guys I've got a lovely AVY GTI Engine. I am hopfully dropping the lump in the summer, after building up 1 NCB ;) - TOUCH WOOD!

I was just wondering if the AVY are good engines to tune? or some good reviews on them thanks a lot (:

She need a lick of paint and away she will go ;)

Not overly. I think you can get a few extra horses with filter and exhaust. I don't know much about cams.

With cams, a good cold air induction, manifold, exhaust and some sort of map they are pretty good. However the biggest let down is the gearbox not being able to take it.

What engine are you running at the moment? I think 150 bhp is reachable without cams 8)

Mine had 130.3 bhp with a panel filter and took first cat out of down pipe on standard gti exhaust. I also ran a 6 speed box too. what did your engine come out of ?

Cams will be mega money dude, I'd go itb's if you want more power. After that I'd stick a 1.8t in as its so much to tune.....

My polo gti made 147bhp near enough with a 4-2-1 decat 2.5 exhaust custom made with a k&n typhoon intake and a remap at amd Essex.

More rpm is needed for bigger gains so go itb's. I wanted to but choose an interior instead....

As I know mine pretty much standard tuned is one of the biggest gains out there for a polo gti lump.

Your torque curve & power curve on the GTI was epic Craig 8) top class mapping to get it that smooth, must have pulled really well when it was done.

How did it compared to your EP3 when it was standard?

Tbh my polo shifted along pretty well I surprised a few motors and they never knew what it was as I was de badged and smoothed lol, but it's night and day really with the type r. But yeah the map was spot on tbh.....

Depending where you live, remapping a 6n2 gti is getting harder. awesome Gti dont do them anymore as the machine was damaged and with the lack of people remapping them the cost of replacement and the pain in the arse they can be, will not be doing it in the future, I also asked a few more and they didn't do it anymore as-well. so check locally before you go down this line as all these mods will be next to useless without a remap to bring them all together.
