POLO 6R. Lane Change project. Passat B8 BSD warning lights also ruled out.
From the beginning of deciding to try to install these BSD warning lights, I admitted that I would have to make a small cut in the non-structural area of the door panel where the side rearview mirrors are located and attached.
Because these Passat B8 BSD warning lights must be installed at a certain angle so that they can be seen clearly, yesterday, after two days of a very artistic work with elastic putty on the trims that hold them, I tested to install these trims to check the result on the vehicle for possible light distortions on the surface of the trims, etc.
Since I had not yet made the small cut in the door panel, it was mandatory for me to remove the BSD warning lights from the trims, and unfortunately the pulling force I used to release the tabs from the BSD warning lights broke the 'elastic' putty... a real hell.
Despite this, I decided to test these BSD warning lights (with +15, from fusebox) overlayed/superimposed on the trims (as far as possible), but with what should be the final angle.
The result is good on the passenger side, but on the driver's side the result is totally unsatisfactory. In daylight, the visible BSD light I get appears too dim from the driver's side (compared to our Golf7.5).
My conclusion is that the vertical angle at which the trim is installed is not appropriate for the Passat B8 BSD warning lights.
As there are too many difficulties for the proper installation of the Passat B8 BSD warning lights, and having more options that are easier to install as possible BSD warning lights, I decide to discard them definitively, much to my regret.
I'm pissed, I'm an orc

... the magic will have to be for another time.
