Yes believe it or not its happened to me! Doing "the speed limit" *cough cough* on the m61 heading back from Trafford centre I here a clunk followed by a bang next news I'm wobbling like mad so pulled it over and my wheel is hanging off the rim :/
Vw assist sent out RAC the guy was sound and sorted it in 2 mins
So got my new spaz wheel on which looks awesome :/
At what point do I call it a day and order a new car haha!

That's nasty, has the alloys got any damage to it? My 'spaz wheel' is exactly the same size as the standard alloys so I'd assume you'd go as fast as you like on it!

Haven't looked at the wheel as its dark will look tomorrow but by the sounds it made it sounded nasty :/ may have to get new wheels sooner than I thought

Wheel is intact!

hole in the tyre is quite big tho can't see a nail though :/ I'd imagine that's what the cause was. I think they should be able to repair it? Ill send the tyre down today and see what they can do with it.

thats an easy repair, but when they get the tyre off, they will advise you from looking inside the walls.....if it was driven for any distance the tyre will prob be shot/unsafe....so it will only be a new one to sort
cheers trigg

Or you could just go and get a hankook from somewhere else? A lot
Cheaper than new wheels...

New wheels are more fun! I was planning on changing anyway so no point buying new tyre and then buying wheels as well. Just makes me spend my money a bit quicker this way haha. Hopefully should get some by Wednesday

Just a suggestion buddy. I know the feeling got one flat tyre ended up with some ridiculously wide banded steels!

Best thing is it can be just washed off when you do change tyres!

It would appear there are a few screws lying around around Manchester! Luckily the poor thing made it home before having a spare on. Luckily it has now been repaired, didn't fancy buying a new tyre! After paying for my tax and insurance in the same month I'm feeling the pinch!
I'm glad I bought a vw, the fords came with a repair kit instead. Much easier just to change the tyre!
