Hi guys and gals.

Been speaking to Ben90 on here in regards to spoilers and brake lights. And we noticed that our high level light is somewhat misty looking.
Ben suggested toothpaste rather than buying a new shiny one. So does it work.... Well I think it does. Being a red light on a red car the pictures are difficult to make out.

After - notice reflections are picked up on light. I know the angle is slightly different but has made the plastic more see through and less foggy. Win win.
Btw I used macleans, Colgate may have been better as its all white, no idea.

I see what you mean, looking to the right of the photo there's a darker reflection from a building. On the paintwork it's a clearly defined line between light and dark. Comparing them in the first photo, as soon as the line crosses into the light unit the reflection is blurred, in the second it's almost as well defined as the paintwork. I'd say that's a brilliant result

It also works on headlights which may look fine but if you switch your lights on at night and look at them, you can see the light pattern dispersing slightly as it passes through the lens. I've used it on safety glasses a couple of times with good results as well. It's old news to some but it can save the perfectionist out there a few quid and keep the car looking shiny

Edit: I spy you actually removed the brake light to clean it - points for non-laziness

I used Farecla G3 Scratch Remover to achieve the same effect. Difference is that the G3 costs £7 a tube...
