exterior front door handle removal (urgent)

Hi .I have a 2011 5 door that iam in the process of vinyl wrapping from black to gloss white after it was keyed but am having real problems removing the front door handles.I have seen the guides showing how you have unscrew the little screw then pull the lock out while pulling the handle but the lock just doesnt seem to want to budge ? Am i missing something??? Thanks Ian
