Hi,

Looking at a certain 6n2 GTI and it appears the front bumper doesn't have headlight washers. Also doesn't look like a GTI splitter.

I'm guessing this is indication it's had an accident and been replaced. But I thought I'd check... Do all the gti's have the bigger splitter and the headlight washers?

Yes. All GTIs have headlight washers and the larger front splitter.

Its quite likely its been in a front end and has been replaced with a normal 6N2 bumper and splitter.

I would be very cautious buying something like that.

I'm fairly sure xenon headlights require washers by law too. Has it got an in date MOT? Has it got a headlight adjuster next to the dashboard dimmer switch? I ask as it could be a standard 6n2 with xenon's fitted?

I avoided it in the end, it had had a bump on the front end and a replacement bumper.

Went for a different GTI with no bumps in its history. It's got a bit of rust on the rear arches to get working on though!

That's unusual. Shouldn't see any rust on the 6N2 being galvanised.

Have the arches been ground back or had a bad rolling job in the past?

I thought it odd too but there's been no tampering with them. It's on the rear arches on both sides. It goes about an inch up from the edge. I'm going to try and find a decent local place to get it done properly.

My Gti has rust on the boot I just thought it was normal for a 12 year old car lol!

Mine has rusted quite badly along the bottom of the quarter panel and above the sill.
