Poorly Polo TDI

Hi everyone just wanted a bit of advice, basically on Saturday I got a call from a very distressed mum who told me that the car felt like a slug and had no torque or boost at all. I walked up to where she was and sure enough it felt really odd. I obviously put two and two together and thought it was a problem with the turbo, maybe a hose had come off. Rang Roadside Assistance who came out within ten minutes. First thing he asked was if we had just fuelled up which we did. He thought that we had put petrol in instead of diesel, after finding the receipt and showing it was diesel that was put it he plugged his computer in and it came up with a faulty fuel pressure sensor. We had to drive to the nearest dealer and left them with the keys in a huff because our plans were ruined for the weekend as we had no car. Got a call last night and now they're saying they're puzzled as to what it could be and they want to keep the car in for longer. They keep on asking what we filled it up with. They agreed to give us a hire car (a sh*tty Vauxhall Astra) until its sorted. What is it likely to be. I noticed it struggles to start sometimes like it has a flat battery but they said the battery was fine it was a faulty alternator. Is it linked? I also found some mayo in the oil cap but I think that was just due to the winter.

I had a fuel issue when I first got mine, petrol car filled up with petrol but the garage had a water leak underground so filled it with water as a result :/ may be worth asking the garage you filled up at if they've had issues (if they'd admit they have that is!) what else have they said? Bad news to here about the car fella hope you get it sorted

It was filled with Shell V-Power Diesel, taking advantage of the 10p off per litre that've got going. It was doing it slightly Friday night but we thought it might have been because we were running low on diesel (only had one bar) and that's why we filled her up so I don't think it's that. I'll give the garage a ring anyhow and see what they say. Thanks, we're just disappointed with our dealer and the way we were treated on Saturday. Our family and friends have been going there near enough 17 years due to recommendation from us and they treated us like sh*t to be honest with you. Granted it was the sales team as the service team always treat us well (the department closed by the time we got there) but they should still have some sort of respect or common courtesy for their customers. The sales man kept going on about how he wasn't being rude but he was.
Hope we get the car back soon, the Astra isn't all it's hyped up to be, engine has a mind of its own and has more rattles than our old 9N hah.

Soz about the car mate, hope it gets sorted soon.
btw, why did a VW dealer give you a bloomin' Astra? - My local dealer only lends Ups, Polos, Golfs and Passats....Vauxhall = Absolute rubbish.

Thanks, got a call at 6 to say they've ordered a replacement sensor as they still don't know what the underlying issue is. They are going to sort out the door alignment out for us because there was so much wind noise at 70+ it was unbearable and they are going to fix us up with a free service too. The salesman we dealt with insisted that there was no courtesy cars available and not one car on the forecourt had tax and said 'I'm in no position to lend out a car, unless you want me to walk home'. A quick call to VWUK and they sorted us out with a car from Europcar. I can't agree more with the Vauxhall = Rubbish comment. Its all made out of cheap plastic and the controls feel like toys. :( hopefully we'll get the baby back tomorrow. The dealer usually gives us Golfs because we've been there so long. We had a Touareg once too.

Got the baby home tonight and she's still not right. Can't feel the bite at all and feels really dangerous when pulling out at junctions. There's a strong smell of diesel from the engine bay and the cabin. They also kindly broke the door handle on the door they readjusted. Great. Back to VW in the morning for me then.

It's gone from having a good solid feel to it to feeling like the Vauxhalls door handle all flimsy and weak as though its gonna snap. Checked the other door handles and this one is definitely not right. Buggeroons!

Had a big row with the Dealer Manager today. He insisted that the car was perfect and he's had all the service desk drive it and test it. I'm not being funny but since when were service advisors technicians? He tried putting me in a petrol Polo and telling us to try and find the bite in that, petrol and diesel both have completely different biting points and his ignorance offends me. After threatening legal action for breaking a car further he's agreed on replacing the clutch to see if that sorts things out. Goes to show that loyalty means nothing to a dealership. They chucked me in a UP! White Edition so that was a little consolation prize. Does this problem sound like some major underlying issue?
