The other day my misses came home from work & said she couldn't reset the miles on her car after buyin petrol. The service indicator has been flashing for about a year & a half now as I do all the servicing myself & haven't got a reset tool. Basically nothing happens when you push the reset button but miles still clock up fine, disconnecting the battery is the only way to reset at the moment. Anyone else had this or know how to correct it? Really don't wann take the whole binnicle out as other than this the whole car is fine. Car is a 1997 1.4 L, Gettin the rest tool tomorrow but have a a feeling this won't help!

First, try resetting the flashing service indicator. Hold the reset knob down before turning the ignition, and keep it held down. Then turn the ignition on (don't start) and keep holding the knob for 10 secs. Repeat for each service indicator (oil, service, whatever)

see if that lets you do it - it seems like an odd thing though! I wonder if the knob doesn't work at all.
