9n3 GTI Cruise Control Retrofit Kit

Can anyone confirm 100% this is the kit needed and it will fit? http://www.kufatec.de/shop/de/Volkswage ... 9N-mit-MFA

I'm going to give it to my local VAG specialist to do but is there anything extra I need to tell them? I read somewhere a wire needs splicing.

Any other tips would be great as I'm going to see them in the morning about it

Thanks!

I've also just discovered I have a 6Q1 control unit so according to the guide on SCN http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=197750 it SHOULD work

It depends whether you have the multifunction display in the clock screen or not. If you do, then it's the correct kit, otherwise you need the other option which doesn't have the buttons to control the computer on the wiper stalk.

Otherwise you need to splice into the power to the brake light switch and activate with VCDS but otherwise it's just a matter of plugging in wires.

I do have the MFD yes.

So the dash doesn't need to come out? I read on clubpolo that it does as there is a plug needed on the bulkhead??

Yeah, there's a plug on the bulkhead that you need to plug a wire into, but you can get to it without removing the whole dash by dropping the relay panel out of the way and reaching up. You need to be a bit of a contortionist but it is doable, and a lot quicker than removing the whole dash. If you take the steering wheel off first you can get your shoulders in a lot closer which makes it a lot easier as well.
