Ive been wanting abit more grunt from my tsi engine and noticed a few places do it now. However im wanting to know from the people that have actually had it done.
Does anyone know of any legit places that can remap this engine with decent gains? Looking for around the 130-140bhp mark.
Also are tuninv boxes any good on petrol turbo engines?
Thanks!

Has anyone used these before?

I know it says diesel tuning lol but they do tuning boxes for petrol turbo units as well. Interesting gains too especially from the dieseltubingbox DTS site claiming 135ps and 224nm torque.
Anyone fancy a group buy

?

The engine is software mapable a tuning box is just a cop out by a "tuner" that doesn't know how to do it properly or is selling cheap digitally controlled resistors as a clever system. The tuning box will be feeding the ECU erroneous data to make the factory software develop more power. e.g. the ECU requests a fuel rail pressure of 1000 psi and achieves it however the tuning box tells the ECU it's only 800 psi thus the ECU requests additional pressure thus the real presure is now 1200psi. rinse, wash repeat for airmass, air temperature, turbo pressure, camshaft position and whatever else the generic box is set to adjust.
Superchips do a proper software map for £365 inc fitting and vat so the same price as one those boxes. I would suggest Revo, APR, GIAC or AmD but these companies don't offer 1.2 TSI maps.

Thanks for that guys, im gonna keep doing my research then. I think i will get myself a remap or hand held like the STS from shark.
They seem quite legit and the reviews give them nothing but praises!

I rang big fish tuning today and they quoted me £225 for anywhere between 125-130bhp which seems quite nippy!
Anyone else with a 1.2 tsi fancy a remap? Could maybe get a group buy going for bigger discounts?

There's a guy on the seat ibiza forums rocking 170 bhp from a remap and a decent exhaust! Mental for a 1.2!

What the... no way :O 1.2 turbo rocking 170bhp? surely can't be safe or be done without changing internals? Forging the engine etc?

Would need quite a lot of work to see that sort of power I'd imagine, think stage 2/3 and ££££s
Anyone got a link to the Ibiza running 170bhp?
