new 5-door owner

Hello folks, just picked up an impulse-buy 5-door 1997 1.4 CL in black on the weekend there.
70k miles, bit of rust on the arches and the rear lip? (bit below the bumper). Ugly-ass interior but it's in great condition, original sony vw tape deck headunit, original 13" steelies etc.
Plan is to tackle the rust myself in the coming weeks, I've got a spare set of 15" multispokes I'll stick on it. Replaced the hu already with a nice Pioneer one I had in the garage. Clear indicators up front, 6n2 all-reds on the rear, got a debadged grill on the way from the bay-of-e. Lined up a 60/40 FK Automotice springs kit from ebay aswell, just sticking to free/cheap mods as much as possible. The car only cost £200 and will only be a work run around so make it look nice and subtle.
Hopefully get some good info and advice on here.
