Hi All

I am lokking for a new interior for my car. At the moment I have a really sad boulevard interior. I Know what the G40 one looks like, but have no idea what the different GT ones look like. Can anyone post some pics of different interiors. I'm sure others in my position would find these pics useful when looking at adverts without pictures for polo interiors.
Cheers :D

This ones from a '93 CL, apparently the interior I've got is one of the revisions they did to the car, besides the impact beams in the doors.

Its got green, purple and blue triangles on the inserts on the seats, and small dots in the same colours on the door cards.

Theres loads of interiors to choose from, on early mk3s there were about 7 or 8

Grey and green fox interior (you dont want that)

Grey CL interior
Blue CL interior
Black CL interior (rare)
Some other CL interior (a sports one apparently) That Ive never seen, possibly similar to grey GT interior

Grey GT interior
Black GT interior

G40 interior (black)

All taken from my "new polo" brochure dated Nov 1990 :P

The ones to go for are the bottom two (look the nicest). The grey GT one would suit a lighter coloured car more imo but Its down to personal choice.

I dont know alot anout later coloured interiors but I would guess that there is the same range of interiors with slightly different patterns on them when compared to the early ones. Altho there are one or two additions to this list that I know of, one says "volkswagen" all over the seats :)

Another good one is a polo genesis interior but using scirocco GTII front seats which have the same pattern. Theyre the same as G40 seats but are a bit wider and the seating position is slightly different (lower I thinK) A very good mod that.

All Mk 3 seats are no use imo. The GT/G40 sit far too high off the floor making it hard work reaching down for gears. I've never felt comfortable in them, my head nearly touches the roof and my knee sometimes rubs the bottom of the s/wheel.
You could go for scirocco or corrado ones if you sticking with vag seats, they both sit lower. The GTII front seats out of the scirocco match the genesis interior which is useful.

I'm going for a pair of Recaros for my blue one 8)

Just out of interest, are these 'Rado or Scirrocco seats a direct fit? If not what adjustments need to be made? I was wanting some more supportive seats, and maybe using a Genesis interior with 'Rocco front seats is an option.

I did not know that. now all we need is someone with a genesis interior to post a pick here so we can see what it looks like. Any takers??

I have corrado seats in the front of my GT, and although they sit far lower and are more supportive, they aren't as cushioned on the base as my old GT seats. I never got a numb arse from driving long distance in the GT seats, but any longer than an hour in the rodo ones and my beehind is in need of some rest...

I agree about the driving position but you must have really long legs and or really short arms dan. :P Im 6'2 and its not bad. Driving pos is alot better than it was on my 1.9 Tdi estate and that had wheel height adjustment. it wasne much use tho; even at max height it was still too low. And then I couldnt lower the seat and the steering wheel was huge so as you can imagine its awful. I have my seat 1 click from right back, the gearchange is reachable from this position and ive got room under the wheel for my legs. (which arent short at 34 inches. Ill stop talking now :D )

It's more of a case that the position I like my seat in, doesnt work. I have the seat all the way back, on the lowest position and tilted back a fair bit. The the most comfortable, but it means I have to reach forward and down to change gear. If I'm wearing my boots then my knee catches the bottom of the wheel when braking.

These are the ones I want:

It's amazing how much faster you can drive round bends when you have buckets!

This is the setup I have in my golf.. (a little dirty, i know..) They make my corrado seats feel like sofas! Driving this car, with a skinny arse like mine, for 3 hours is quite a gruelling affair!
