Hi well I'll tell you something, you'll hate the new TDI's at first, I know I did coming from a 1.4 TDI... There's similar torque but you don't get that big shove that you do with the old PD's. Once you get used to them though they're okay to drive. If you're going for the 1.6 TDI then there's a remap available whick takes them up to 145bhp which should please you

Try and get one with front fogs, they set them off nicely and the leather steering wheel!

Normal polo 6r:
H&R's 25/40
Set of nice rims pref 17"x7.5 with 215/40 rubber
Exhaust trim
Extra Stubby aerial
Tints
Fogs
Black vw badges
debadged polo/1.4/tdi badges
+Loads more
and you will be onto a winner
Obv if you go GTI then you can look at remap, intake, exhaust and all the little trick bits

You'll only be able to get the 1.6 TDI remapped and DPF removed at the moment... There's not one available for the 1.2 which is what we are driving, the SELs are nice but IMO not worth the extra money for a extra 1" on the alloys, 15bhp more and a little more chrome and leather thrown around! I fully retrofitted fogs on ours for £50, the fogs cost me £35 and £15 in materials!

I'm the same, I'm looking for a car of my own atm narrowed it down to a MKV Golf TDI, I could get a nice high spec petrol with sub 100k miles for the same money as the diesel that is mid spec and has 100k+ but I can't bring myself to buy a petrol, I hate the way they drive! Haha...

some polos even the SE's come with heated seats! + you cant argue with £20 a year road tax

I almost bought an SEL till i saw that armrest and i just couldnt get my head around it. Its cumbersome and gets in the way of the handbrake - what is that all about!
1.2 Match TDI in the end, and its an excellent little motor.
