Diff problems

HELP!!!!

I have a vibration on the front of the car, initially after doing all the usual, wheels and tyres checked and balanced all bushes and ball joints checked etc, it became the drive shafts turn. Pulling on the drive shafts play was found when you moved them up with some force, drivers side was worse.
So Both CV's ordered for drivers side drive shaft and duly replaced. Hey ho vibration much less, so check the passenger side and again play could be felt, so the cv's have been replaced on the passenger side. A week and a half later, the vibration is now worse and play can be felt in both drive shafts with a firm pull up and down, the only common thing now is the diff in the middle so to speak.

So does anyone else on here have experience of this, is it something that can be sorted with the gearbox in the car, or am I looking at a gearbox swap.
The car is in use every week day going backwards and forwards to work, hence its done 12000 since January.

All help and suggestions would be very gratefully received, as I'm guessing this is going to be expensive :? :? :? :?

This is certainly a strange problem

Have you ruled out wheel bearings?

Alex no I haven't ruled out the bearings, since my posting I have had the car up on a 4 post ramp and checked. New tyres all round have been put on as the car needed them. This has improved things no end, but there is a vibration that can be felt if you put your hand on the spring when the wheel has been rotated at speed. You are probably correct with wheel bearing
How difficult is it to change the front bearing, do you need to removed the wheel hub and press a bearing into it or can it be done simply without a press?

Thank you once again for you help Alex.

That sounds like bearings for sure.

The front hub needs to be removed then the bearing pulled/pressed out with a 10+ ton press on these
