Not a bad looking wheel, but look a bit 'halfords' to me, if you know what I mean.

i know what you mean about the halfords...but with a VW badge in the middle..im sure they'll be fine! 
im going to go for these...otherwise the LM's i want only comein 18's and fitting 18 inch wheels on a small car like this is a bit stupid in my opinion

I've seen 18s on the 6r, they're ok if it's on air I think. Otherwise it'll make it fairly awful to drive I think.
17's are the right size there's some nice bbs rs reps in 17 on eBay, which would look the part without being overly expensive.

It's each to their own pal, that's the best thing about cars! Boring otherwise.
There's a guy on Instagram called Bentley, he has a white 6r, used to run coilovers (now on air) and at the time he had some xxr , and they looked amazing.
You could try something more oem? Set of audi ttrs reps, s3 ronals, tt comps maybe? All readily available on eBay for pretty cheap.
