Milltek downpipe, sports cat, remap

Looking at fitting a Milltek 2.5" bore downpipe and sports cat on my 9n3 GTI. Will this bring up an engine management light and will it be ok if I get a stage 1 remap at R Tech afterwards? The reason I ask is because on the Milltek website it states that 'must be fitted with a Milltek Sport Catback system and requires a stage 2 remap'.
Would it be ok to just fit this and leave the standard backbox etc?
Any help would be appreciated.

Had my down pipe with sports cat on for about 2 months driving everyday and had no cel appear
