Hi all

i recently bought a mk5 Polo, it's only a 1.0 litre and it's completely standard, but it's very clean inside and out for an 11 year old car. this being my first year of driving i have had to spend pretty much all of my savings on insurance. just like any other new driver i am very excited about finally owning and driving a car, but because of my financial situation, i cannot afford to have a decent sound system just yet. the car came with a factory stereo (cassette/CD player) so i would like to know if there is a cheap and easy way to have my own music in the car, i'm talking about a way to either have an AUX or USB to connect my phone to.

You can by adaptors that plug straight into the back of the Gamma/Beta unit. But I'd save for a aftermarket headunit which will give you better music control and improved sound quality.

Since you got yourself a polo would you be interested in any parts?

I have the GTI Front Splitter and the GTI Tailgate Spoiler.

Also I have BBS RXII Split Rim wheels but they need a refurb.

if you want a cheap stereo with aux etc buy something decent but an older model for around £40

Keep an eye on Halfords. They frequently sell half decent single DIN headunits at sub £100 when its been made obsolete. I got 50% off a Pioneer for the Lupo and an Appradio for the ST

i managed to get a jvc for £70 and its pretty decent to be honest
