need new alternator

Hi guys my alternator has finally given up after whinning like a mutha! Wheres the best place and price to get a new one from? ideally 90amp or more
btw its a 2001 polo gti 6n2

GSF/Euro are pretty good for these

gsf is 202.80 for the cheapest then upto 252.00 for either 90 or 120 amps! prefer it a bit cheaper than that!

Wow that's more than I was expecting!
The 9n 90amp ones fit as do many of the golf ones if you change the pulley

euro place is cheaper but I don't know which of 5 fits my car! how can I find out my engine code?

It'll be AVY on yours
One suitable for an ARC engine will be fine also (earlier engine different emissions)

FWIW, I paid £30 for one off a 2008 9n3 1.4 16v from eBay. Fitted prefectly and had the same VW/Bosch part numbers.
Took an hour or so to swap it over on the driveway with my dad.
