My Gti needs a new set of rear brakes so I'm thinking of going down the 256mm conversion route. I'm sure Ive read somewhere that you shouldn't do the rears without doing the fronts so I'll be going for a set of 312mm fronts too.

Ive looked at getting them from a TT but I didnt know if all TT's have 312 and 256 brakes ? And will the 256's fit if from a Quattro TT ?

Any help appreciated...

Quattro rears dont fit, even with adaptors (I learned the hard way).

I've gone for a set from an anniversary Mk IV golf. Fingers crossed.....

you need to rotate the rear pistons to push them back in if you didn't already know. Otherwise, its all pretty basic other than trying to remove the original parts which might need some persuasion...
