Has anybody here got pictures of a rear ARB fitted to their polo?

Id like to see how it sits and fits as well as the shaping as i am thinking of making one myself at work

i can't see that being very good.

looks more like a strut brace than an anti roll bar!

the whole point of the anti roll bar is that it uses the cantilevers on either side and a torsion bar in the middle to resist the twisting forces acting upon it. the one in the picture is literally just a bar connecting the two spring holders together

Traditionally an anti roll bar would be bolted to a static part of the car's chassis and then each end to two seperate moving struts. On the Polo and other supermini platforms however, an aftermarket anti roll bar is actually more of a 'torsion bar brace', as it doesn't anchor to any static part of the car's chassis. It works by merely stiffening the torsion bar so it resists twisting along it's axis moreso than intended, thus reducing roll.

The one I posted is my Whiteline ARB specifically for the Polo/Ibiza/Fabia platform.

Its only that making one would only cost me about £40/50

so would the "strut brace" idea not have any effect on the handling??

The 'strut brace' arb looks about as good as a limp d*ck in a brothel, as it doesn't seem to anchor to any other part of the torsion bar to resist any torsional movement, and if it really is as rigid as a strut brace then the welds would fail in seconds. A normal strut brace mounted to the tops of struts resists movement by having compression forces placed on itself rather than torsional.

Just splash out on a whiteline (other brands are available), it's the mutts nuts, adjustable and you can sell it on for most of the money back when you're done with it. Alternatively, keep a beady out for a secondhand one
