Red Polo GTi

I was on the way back out of the housing estate my sister lives on in Market Drayton (Hampton Drive) and saw a red 3-door Polo GTi parked up on the oposite side of the road. Filthy it was... but anyway. The GTi badges were those of the all red variety, therefore possible import?
I actually stopped next to the car and had a look at it, so hoping the driver/owner would have seen me from the house... wish I had some flyers!
