1.0L engine trouble

I was hoping someone could shed some light on a couple of problems i am having?
after the engine has been running for a bit something starts to squeak and rattle(sounds like it is coming from behind the glove box), i have no idea what it is, this is only when idleing and not moving as soon as the car starts to roll or rev above 1000rpm it goes away? you can JUST hear it in the video but it is usually really load after the engine has been running.
the epc light will sometimes flash on while driving also along with a huge power drop, it feels as if its been put in first gear while driving at 40! for about a second then the light goes out and its as if nothing ever happend but sometimes it will kill the engine like in the video.

as well as the noise sometimes when driving all the warning lights will flicker on really fast, it seams to be pretty random sometimes when sat in traffic and sometimes when driving.
does anyone have any ideas what is causing these problems? its only started since this cold weather but i dint know if that's related or just by chance.
