Breaking a Polo :(

Post by colour_concept »

So guys,

Its been a while since I posted here. Unfortunately the gearbox on my 6n2 colour concept is about to give up on me :( Its already gone once before and having had the car for 7 odd years, 4 clutches and a gearbox, and now another gearbox required ive decided enough is enough. Time to rid of the sucker!

The car has been looked after well, the transmission problems must just be my luck but otherwise its served me well. Cosmetically is in pretty good nick and is currently OEM+ so Id like to think. Question is do I break it and sell for part or shift the car as a whole?

Its got a few decent mods which I think may be worth a few bob:

Original GTI Xenons in excellent condition (were brand new and fitted maybe 3 yrs ago)
Gti splitter and all the grills including fogs
BMC induction kit
Original colour concept leather interior with all door cards etc, immaculate condition! (smokers were banned in my car :P )
16" BBS RX single piece wheels

So taking the above into consideration plus your usual bits which people would want, what would you guys reckon the best thing be to do. Im concerned if I start stripping the car, i'll struggle to get rid of the shell. I have no doubt that the parts above will get decent money as theyre usually most sought after. So if anyone knows how I can get rid of the shell of the car, then please let me know. Based in NW London if that helps, maybe a local scrappy willing to collect it?

I would be interested in your leather seats and the gti grills and splitter. If you want to give the car to the scrappy and you don't want parts missing I can trade in my old parts so the car looks complete. It would be a shame for these parts to be sold to a scrappy. I live in hayes, nw london, so if you sre interested let me know mate, and we can arange something

thanks for the offer, just lining up a new car before i get stuck in with breaking the polo. I gave the car some serious TLC so would be heartbreaking for a scrappie to take it and batter it.

give me a few days, will take some snaps and create a proper breaking ad. In the meantime if anyone does know how to rid of a incomplete car (possibly even non-starting) it would be much appreciated.
