hi all, just joined the forum so a big hello to everyone here.
i have a 1996 1.0 polo that was driving like it was just 6 months old :) anyway, it died today while doing 60mph, the clocks stopped working as it died. i have had a quick look at it and there is no spark from the HT leads or from the coil lead. is there a common fault on these models? i used to do all my own stuff but just dont have the time these days.
PS i also broke down last week in my T4 transporter, not been a good week :?

thanks in advance for any pointers :)

Could well be a corroded earth strap. Make sure all the earth straps are in good condition and fitted properly

Otherwise the coil may have failed.
