Hello all

Would anyone have any idea why my new Polo blue GT should experience a complete loss of power after covering only 1500 miles?
An engine diagnostic was carried out and a fault code P0087 was displayed.
Apparently the engine required a software update which has resolved the problem and the car is running fine now.
It seems a little strange to me that an engine should suddenly lose power because it hasn't had the latest software installed.

Any thoughts?

It may be that there was a fault with the original software, that could in rare/exceptional circumstances put the engine into limp mode.
So VW produced an update to rectify the issue.

Unless the fault recurs l wouldn't worry about it.
