1.2 TDI 6R mods, GF's car!

Hi all, vag scene isn't my thing and I'm an evo owner so I don't know a lot about these cars. My girlfriend has a 13 plate 1.2 TDI 6R and currently have debadged it, painted the VW badges white with silver glitter (her choice), candy pink calipers (again her choice) and has 17" BBS RS wheels in white.
It's crying out to be lowered but don't want coilovers and don't want it sitting ridiculously low, just a nice subtle drop that looks good but is still drivable day in day out. I was thinking about eibach progressive springs but only lower 25F/30R.
I was thinking more so 30F/40R, is there such a kit? Any pictures on 17" wheels would be appreciated!
Also what's the score with HID's? Wasn't a plug and play on my mate MK6 golf and these look the same? Also LED bulbs for sidelights and no. plates, do they bring a bulb warning light on? On ignition there isn't any visible light which would suggest this.
