Can somebody tell me if this feature is fitted to the 2012 Polo Match?

The handbook does not specify which features are fitted to the various models.
I called the VW dealer but they didn't know!

I don't like it.

If you want to reverse into a parking space on a hill, you actually have to select reverse and bring up the clutch before it will go downhill.
Then you immediately have to brake, as the car is going too fast.
I guess there is a way around it.....l will have to practise.

Technology for technology's sake in my opinion. It's there because they can.

The hill hold only lasts a couple of seconds and as far as I'm aware only kicks in if the clutch is depressed. So you could easily roll back in neutral or wait a couple of seconds.

Can "hill hold assist" be disabled?

After more use it seems inconsistant.
Sometimes on slight hills it does not kick in, meaning you release the brake expecting it to work and the car rolls backwards.
My wife reports that it sonetimes won't release the brakes until the two seconds are up! Meaning she tries to pull away and the car won't move....

Damn waste of time gadget

No it cannot.

You need to press the brake firmly for it to enable to begin with in any case. Some slight hills it wont kick in - that is the nature of the system.

When I had my 6R, the second you try and pull away it always released the brakes. I never had any issues with it.
