Bluetooth Questions and Help!

Hi guys, I have a 2011 Polo 1.2 Match, and it came with a RCD310.

However I am looking to upgrade to either a RNS310 or RNS315.

First of all, I would like to ask what is the differences between the RNS310 AND RNS315?

Furthermore, I would like to add bluetooth to my car as it didn't come with bluetooth, how would I install a bluetooth module inside like in regards where does the module actually hide in a polo? and stuff.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, I can't help with the radio differences but I have just fitted the 9w7 bluetooth module to the RCD 510 :D

I removed the trim under the glovebox where the little cubby box is and managed to push the module up above the cubby box as it wouldn't fit under the seats (my car has the boxes under the seat). I wrapped the module in foam so there's no rattles.

I ran the wires above the glovebox to the back of the radio.

Hope this helps!

I was under the impression you need to install the little screen..

What im looking to do is:
- Play music from phone through radio
- Take calls through radio

Can anyone clarify what I will need?

Thanks this helped a lot, but how did you run the wires through, is there a need of any drilling, and does the bluetooth module wires just plug into the back of your radio unit?

No, no drilling or cutting, I removed the radio and the trim to the side of the glovebox (facing the door). I was then able to push a straightened coat hanger in from the side to the back of the radio slot. I then taped the mic cable and the cable that runs to the module to the coat hanger and pulled it back through.

Yes the bluetooth module cable plugged into the back of my rcd510 and then the loom from the car plugged into that.

I got ideas from Norbreck21 on how to fit it. It may be worth having a look at some of his posts. :)

It depends on which radio you have. If you have a capable radio such as the rcd510 you are able to add a bluetooth module and do the things you mentioned through the radio screen

BlackSEL, i looked through Norbrecks post but couldmt find much hope and was eyeing if you would be able to help me.
So what trim exactly are you talking about in the glove box, would you be able to show me or desrcibe it and how exactly did you take it off, and how did you loom the mic in a good place too, any help and detailed help would be much appreciated thanks! :D

I looked at quite a few videos to help on how to fit the bluetooth

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J266woOCeU4

This video helps quite a bit.

The trim by the glovebox is the part that is revealed when you open the door. It's easily removed and shown in the video. It's a golf but the principle is the same.
