Trip Computer

Hi all,
Recently bought a 2014 Polo Match Edition, which is a great little car. I know there are two trip computers on this car, one for shorter journeys that resets after a number of hours and the other that records over a longer period of time. However, trip computer 2 keeps resetting after 500 miles. Previous Volkswagens (Golf, CC, Passat) I have driven didn't reset until you reset it yourself. Is this normal on the Polo? Thanks
