2007 MKIV Polo Dune sidelight replacement

Hi there guys n girls, I wonder if any of you out there will know how to change the front sidelight bulb on a 2007 VW Polo Dune or MKIV Polo. I have tried to see how to remove them but on the offside there is a fuel filter & filter mount blocking any way of finding where the wiring actually goes into the headlight unit. I really don't want to fork out £100's getting a garage to tear the face off the car & land me a huge labour bill. Why do they make it so damn difficult eh!? I'm pretty conversant when it comes to working on cars etc., but this has got me beat at the moment
