I want to change my gearbox oil, it can be a little notchy and has crunched from 1st-2nd a few times and I've read that changing the gearbox oil can make a big difference due to the rubbish VW put in?
I was just wondering what people recommend as a lot of people have said put redline mt90 oil as its meant to be better or do people recommend putting the genuine VW gearbox oil in? my polo is on a 56 plate if it makes a difference and has had the recall but I still want to do it.

Just used 3 bottles of redline for mine

I would personally only use genuine gearbox oil

Well yeah I always thought to put genuine in but I just wanted to know which people had, had better results with as I've read that the redline stuff works and makes it a look smoother and It just seems like the genuine stuff doesn't seem to do wonders tbh..

had best results from genuine gear oil

part number i used was G 070 726 A2

think mines needs doing too so this was useful!
mines developed a slight crunch between 1st and second on the drive dwon to edition 38 at the weekend. i put it down to the 15 hour drive and the hectic traffic but it might be worth changing anyways!

how much roughly is a bottle and how much does the gearbox hold? i'm at work so dont have the user manual handy....
