It's time for a tyre change on my 16V and i am also looking for new rims. I am almost in love with these as they remind me of the RX2's with an even nicer 30 offset but never heard of cades.
What do you think?

Friend had them on his. Nice wheels. They fit well too

So, here they are looking great with the s-drives. Now waiting for the Eibach Pro-Kit to fit with my bilsteins and i'm ready to go! I'll post more pics when done.

New springs are on and most importantly rear disc brakes. (at last!)

I'm going for a wheel alignment (guess it's needed now isn't it?) in a few days and then i'll post some pics of the car with the new wheels. (haven't fitted them yet)



Yes i know, the arch needs cleaning and my exhaust is rusted. It's next on my list

Looks good. The ones i had similar to these ones were the HRS 252 wheels.

Wheels are on, looking good. Here is a quick pic i took after fitment.




More pics to come and probably a complete build thread with all details and mods i've done, just before Christmas when i will go for a full detailing session. Can't do it right now as my roof and rear bumper where repainted few days ago and i need to wait some time for the curing process to complete before applying any wax. I also have to paint a new roof spoiler i got and the air vents (piano black). You can see the gaps if you watch the picture carefully.

What suspension are you running? And How does your suspension feel?

I have the H&R sports cup kit 60/40 but found it too uncomfortable on the UK roads because too many speed bumps and pot holes everywhere. So now have bought a H&R comfort kit instead which is 35mm all round.

Eibach ProKit 30/30 progressive springs. Very comfortable and our roads here are s**t. A little lower would be perfect for me but i already had the B6 Bilsteins which cant go lower than 30mm. I believe the perfect combination is B8 with Eibach SportLines. Maybe in the future.

You have a good kit, heard on the forums the Bilsteins are great shocks and the spring selection you have are really good. They are a little expensive for the B8's. Ive settled on the H&R comfort kit. Its gotta be better than 60/40. It was good in the beginning but now 4 years later its horrible with the bumpy, pot holed roads.

What other upgrades have you got planned?

Thanks mate! Next is a whiteline rear anti-roll bar (red great things here), full stainless exhaust (with sports cat and 4-2-1 mani) and probably i'm done. My gearbox still working fine thanks god. Most other mods i've done are cosmetic and i'll write everything up in detail sometime during Christmas.

Sounds good dude. After reading up on the Bilstein B12 kit, ive emailed the company where i bought the H&R comfort kit to see if i can upgrade it to the Bilstein kit instead.

Been reading that the Bilstein mono tube inverted B8 dampers with shortened rebound are much better at dampening than the standard sport shocks that H&R do.

When your driving on bumpy and uneven roads, how do you find the comfort?

For my taste and tolerance it is quite comfortable for a 'sports' suspension, especially now that i got rid of the stock springs. I feel it gives smoother rebound, it doesn't feel too bumpy as before. If you already have the h&r kit leave it like that. Never had the H&R kit to compare with but i believe it's not worth the expense and probably you won't feel that much of a difference even though bilsteins are considered better shocks.

The H&R kit hasnt been sent yet, just was reading and lots of people are saying for the money spent, theres not much in it in price but for performance and comfort the Bilsteins are worlds apart from The H&R.

In that case get the bilsteins, don't even think about it. For me, B12 is the n1 choice for someone who is willing to spend some money for suspension and doesn't want coilovers.

*Just remember that this setup is a bit low, close to the 60-40 you had and might feel less comfortable for your taste. Your other choice is B8 with Eibach Pro 30-30 like mine. I would get the B12

There are two options that i can choose,

Polo 6N2 1.0, 1.4 10/99>

Or

Polo 6N2 1.4, 1.4TDi, GTi 1.6, 1.7SDi, 1.9SDi 10/99>

Both are 30mm with the Eibach Pro springs and thats what i want. I dont want the sports with the 60/40 drop.


Ive upgraded my order to the Bilstein B12 kit. So that comes with the B8 shocks and the Eibach Pro 30mm springs and also got a full set of Bilstein dust covers. DPM have said to use the OE bump stops. Did you use the bump stops on yours?
