wiring problem 2008 1.4tdi

Hi, wonder if anyone can help.
I've a front end damaged 2008 1.4tdi and its all about sorted apart from a small wiring issue. With the front end off there is a thin lead which should have a two pin connector on the end (its been severed off) and whatever it attaches to is also missing. the colours are brown with a white stripe and brown with a yellow stripe.
The wires come from the same part of the loom as the n/s front fog, pas pump etc. I know what it isn't i.e. Pas, n/s fog, headlamp, reverse lamp switch, horns x2, cooling fan relay, cooling fan. The wires are very thin and about the same length as the horn wires so I suspect its a sensor or relay maybe air temp or something any ideas would be much appreciated.
